Paradis Island is a massive landmass on which the three Walls are located, serving as the sole remaining territory of the Empire of Eldia following the Great Titan War. The island hosts refugees who are predominantly ethnic Eldians, cut off from the rest of the world by the ocean. Geographically, it is modeled after Madagascar. The military structure within these walls is strictly divided into three divisions: the Garrison Regiment, the Survey Corps, and the Military Police Brigade. Commanded initially by Premier Darius Zachary (also known as Darius Zackly), the government oversees a system where applicants must first enter the Training Corps before joining one of the three military branches. The island's history is defined by its role as a hidden sanctuary for Eldia, though this isolation eventually fractures when the truth about Titans and the outside world is revealed.

In Their Own Story

The narrative on Paradis begins with humanity living in cities surrounded by enormous walls to defend against Titans, gigantic humanoids that eat humans seemingly without reason. The story centers on Eren Yeager, who joins the defense force after his hometown is invaded and his mother is eaten. He trains alongside childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert in the 104th Training Corps. Later revelations expose that Paradis is an island where Eldia's last territory resides, while nations like Marley on the mainland have declared war against them. As the conflict escalates, the internal politics shift when Darius Zachary supports Erwin Smith's plan to overthrow the monarchy and the Reiss family. The isolation of the island ends when the truth about the world beyond is discovered, leading Eren Yeager to unleash a genocidal crusade against the rest of the world, wiping out 80% of humanity before being stopped by an alliance of the Survey Corps and Marleyan Warriors.
